Pep Boys continues it's new policy of not honoring it's warranties. They no longer honor any lifetime brake warranties. They would not honor lifetime warranty on CV Boots. So I've taken my business to Autozone.I mentioned to the counter person at Autozone about Pep Boys not honoring warranties and he said he had heard it many times and they are gaining lots of ex Pep Boys customers. You can even check out the price of any item sold at Autozone at their website www.autozone.com.You can order items not stocked from Autozone.Pep Boys has discontinued any ordering of parts not stocked.Pep Boys was my major source of auto parts.I assure you I have no stock in or employment or any interest in Autozone. This once was a respectable, honest company. I contacted Pep Boys in the past and they just ignored my email. What could they say?
I have seen a copy of the revised Autozone policy relating to a number of their items that used to be lifetime. Their corporate management sent out a directive reducing their warranty on a number of items from lifetime to 90 days, especially on ignition, brakes, drums, rotors, just to mention a few. Also, at most Autozone stores, the interpretation is the part is lifetime until you bring it back. The replacement is only 90 days. Autozone is now run by a President from the grocery business, two executove VP's from the grocery business, just to mention a few. They don't have a clue about the autoparts business.
