In my opinion, Martha, as a consumer I put much fault at the feet of the service manager who puts heavy scare pressure on me to buy extra services beyond and way beyond what I venture into his service bays to get fixed.
When I come in for an oil change [only], I get high pressured into windshield wipers, tire rotations, and even buy 3 tires get the 4th free [not really after you hear the price of the first three].
I fully believe that when they see someone in a skirt, they put a full press into play to sell her everything under the sun extra.
I oppose that kind of salesmanship.
And I avoid Pepboys as much as possible.
