Selling out of the money puts against PM will earn you more than you would through owning the stock for its dividend. I've sold the June 44 puts today in my IRA. I was paid 1.6 per share.
PM was about 48.5 per share when I sold this put. I'll know in June whether or not I should have bought the stock or sold the put. There's less risk with selling puts put other than the option premium earned you have no upside.
My accounts are with Charles Schwab and Etrade and they both allow me to sell cash covered puts. Perhaps your brokerage firm doesn't allow it but it's more conservative than owning stock so they should.
I also have an account with Ed Jones and they don't allow any option trades in or out of an IRA.
