    • Yes, it is

    • We have a NEW expert in town.
Staples contract has been beating out odp omx and cexp for may years but according to the NEW expert they can not sustain their growth.
I see evidence from spls that they are growing strong and have been for years - why would that stop now?
All the EXPERTS must be working for omc or odp.

    • you may be a jackass expert, but you are right about Staples Delivery management. They can't sustain their growth with their selling model.

HIGH sales turnover, LOW account retention. While they are showing sales growth, it's costing them a fortune in sales rep turnover and losing accounts as fast as they bring them on.

      They sell with deceptive tactics.

I'm the true expert around here, so come to me with all the industry answers.

    • Am I missing something - where has spls underperformed its peers? Not in 1 year 2 yearss or 5 years - Where????

    • i've got data out the %#@& and would be happy to share about this &@#% company. they are a bunch of %^#$ and are dragging the entire company down the *&#$ drain.

    • The expert is back. The moron that he is. Staples delivery business is up about 10% he has NO IDEA what he is talking about.
A few weeks ago he was buying ODP at 26,24 22 etc and saying that his broker says that it is a great buy.
Expert - at least you used to be entertaining but now you are just spewing hatred with no substance. You must have been fired by staples at some point.
Things were better when we did not hear from you.

    • "I think that you are unfair in bashing the spls group and seem to me like you have something personal against spls not just their performance."

This is all you got......that's it, not one single fact, figure or anything pertinent to this stocks overall performance. I have given severral reasons why a change at the top is needed. This stock has been a dog for years, not days, weeks or months, it's underperformed it's peers in value. period. It's simply has not given stockholder value. How simple can it get. Stop trying to make this out to be a management bashing issue, call a duck a friggin duck. This leadership team has done NOTHING to enhance the value of this stock. If you have any numbers or data to back up your expertise bring it forward. It won't happen because there is none. IMO

    • The problem is that this is a public stock, like most retailers.
Despite good earnings it is dependant on knee jerk reactions of the market which cause the executives to make very poor decisions simply to cater to stockholders.

Staples just went through it's busy season and each store
had lower payroll hours than they ever did and were still held accountable to the same standards for customer service. Common sense shows that this was not realistic.

Are you smarter than a fifth grader??
Lower payroll = fewer employees in the store to help customers and ring register thus reduced customer service.

Not to mention the DCs overshipped stores with non critical skus like carpets while many stores were totally depleted of key items like binders and bookcovers and certain ink cartridges.

    • Staples management is a joke. A bunch of OP industry rejects. The only reason they are growing is by entering new markets and using their "Staples Way" selling technique of asking for the customer's invoices and guaranteeing to lower their costs. Real sales genius'. That's why they hire right out of college ...train them, put them on the street asking for copies of invoices. It works temporarily, but they are losing accounts out the ass end every day when customer realize that by sharing competitor pricing has gained them NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
