If you are former CEXP, i would be nervous as you will be the first to go in the coming days.

Well which is it? Would you prefer that they keep the employees at the expense of the shareholders? You can't have both. It was a smart business move for shareholders, unfortunately you're not a shareholder.

    • How many IAM's lost their jobs? About 50?

    • We lost our entire SoCal Customer Svc team, 4 IAMs and 4 of the 5 pricing team layoffs were out of the SoCal branch. (the 5th is in CO).

    • there will be no layoff, staples is expanding like crazy, and the last group it will let go is CE people, Staples is trying to expand the delivery group so they will not let them go.

You may be right. I wouldn't be surprised if something happened in the next couple of weeks, but Slurpeeboy is still clueless.

      • this a real problem. The CE people that have stayed and committed their careers to SPLS are still treated as second class in this company. regardless of their performance, they are the first to go when layoffs are announced, rather than judging them on their performance. SPLS sr management are a closed group that protect less talented Staples people as long as they tow the company line (which includes NEVER question any decisions being made in Framingham)
Based on their performance in the last few years, why are there no changes at the top of SBM? They have failed to take advantage of ODP and OMX poor performance and are now flat as a board. Clearly the solution is to remove the CE people.

    • You could not pay me to invest in a company like this. Who would ever want to work for Staples? You must be a part-time stock boy. What will you be fired from? a $9.00 an hour job, wearing a red apron ,stocking the store with cheap Staples brand pens made in China that hardly write. I ordered them for my business and as soon as I wrote on a paper it would not write. I tossed them in the garbage and switched my account to Office Depot. Staples customer service is horrible as well. My account manager never gives me a good price compared to Office Depot. All the Staples brand products are cheap junk made in China and the name brand products are sold at twice the price of Amazon.

      • Slurpyboy - You think all jobs at Staples are "$9.00 an hour job, wearing a red apron ,stocking the store"?
You should stick to making "slurpys" at 7-11.

J.D. Power and Associates has awarded Staples “An Outstanding Customer Service Experience” for seven years in a row.
        Can OD say that?

The stock will eventually bang its head on $26...again.

SPLS does not need or want your investment.
Concerning pens - why don't you order brand name pens? Amazon does not sell brand name office products at half the price of SPLS.
As far as your account manager from Office Depot - you do not have an account manager.
And where do you think the Office depot private label products are being made - China.
So continue to buy from Office Depot the most corrupt company in the USA.
You obviously have been fired by SPLS and I am sure for good cause!
