Amazon with the Sales Tax advantage....
I can buy on Amazon.com with ZERO sales taxes. Staples makes me pay-it because of their big brick and mortar footprint. Bottom line...Amazon wins, Staples Loses.

Really? Apparently you do not know what has been going on for the past two years. Amazon must charge sales taxes in those states where they have a distribution center....and laws have been passed in many states in the past 12 months which require sales tax on ALL Amazon sales within their locale.
If you are going to bash something....PLEASE do enough research to at least SOUND like you know what you are talking about.

Tax no Tax is not an issue at Staples.
The bulk of their business is not the retail customer looking for a dozen pencils.
Over half of their business is B to B. Businesses need more than amazon has to offer in services, breadth of line one stop shop. Business customers are not concerned about paying tax. Retail customers are and that customer is not a Staples customer to begin with. That is already a Big box, chain drug store or your Amazon customer looking to save on Tax.
So I am not bashing but that is the way it is -
