West Michigan bucks national foreclosure trend, sees drop in August
majority of West Michigan counties saw a drop in foreclosure filings in August compared with July and with year prior, according to data released today.
That comes at an encouraging sign, even though foreclosures continued to soar nationally.
Kent County filings were down 8 percent from July and 15 percent from August 2009. In Ottawa County they were down 31 percent from July and 42 percent from a year ago.
Statewide numbers reflect a similar trend, dropping 6 percent from July and 8 percent from 2009, according to California-based RealtyTrac. Nationally, filings were up 4 percent from July, but down 5 percent from 2009.
Thanks for the info. that I would have never seen myself. Maybe, someday, the world will understand that MI is not going to fall off the planet and that the worst is over. Someone loves to sell MBWM between 2 and 4PM.
