I've been a big investor in Synta, and have done very well in this stock over the last several months. Obviously, I believe in the HUGE potential of a viable Hsp90 inhibitor. So that also leads to Astex. They and Synta have the two most promising (non-geldanamycin) Hsp90 inhibitor candidates out there.
I'm trying to decide how much to invest in each.
Advantages for Synta: ganetespib further along in phase 2, more publicity, minimal toxicity (including ocular), big-money investors on the bandwagon (Blackrock, Baker Brothers)...
Advantages for Astex: cheap--half the market cap of Synta, still mostly unknown Hsp90 inhibitor, recently beaten down, income stream....
Any new insights here from you guys?
