I'll reiterate for those that missed it. Everyone knows AAPL is going to appeal and there case won't be settled for years. The question is, will the judge issue a ruling damaging enough to AAPL that it causes CSCO to waive the white flag. That's the real question here. It's only about how severe the ruling is on AAPL and how CSCO reacts to it. CSCO knows AAPL will never win an appeal. They know they will have to eventually pay VHC, although it will be years before that happens. In the meantime, if CSCO sees severe financial penalties imposed on AAPL, do they negotiate a reasonable licensing fee now or are they still defiant with no chance of winning in court.
