Let's not forget that we are just 10 days away from the deadline for Apple and VHC to reach an agreement on ongoing royalties or to send it back to the good judge to impose an ongoing royalty rate. Nothing has changed, other than VHC not getting a big whack of cash from CSCO. The sell off borders on the absurd relative to the cash that VHC would have received had the CSCO verdict gone in VHC's favour.
It's all speculation on what APPL may or may not do. There could be an all encompassing settlement reached negating the need for an appeal. APPL and VHC may fail to reach an agreement on royalties leading the judge to impose one. This may or may not be appealed by APPL. What we do know is that something will happen by April 12th which will change the landscape and it potentially could be very positive for VHC. We also know that the judge has ordered APPL to pay VHC until this all gets resolved. Unless APPL is successful in all appeals and the jury verdict gets reversed, VHC will end up with a lot of money from APPL and the longer this drags on the bigger the prize. April 12th is another significant milestone along the way and there is always the chance we will get a very positive early surprise.
