    Why buy?

rlaimbeer is one of the few posters that can actually explain AOD and do it with a calm, relaxed demeanor. plus support it with actual "work". i would pay attention to his posts.

for those of you that can't deal with reading through financials and such, you might focus on NAV. in another thread, i noted a decline in NAV of .60 over about 15 months. very simple, they paid out .60 more than they made.

no accounting gimmicks, smoke/mirrors of div cap but possible cap loss to get the div, etc..., etc....

this is just the basic math and there is no way to distort it.

    • Thanks Blue, appreciate the support for doing factual analysis of hard financial data. Hope is a great thing in many facets of life but it is not a great trait when it comes to investing. I wish that AODs dividend capture strategy worked so it provided above average yield along with stable or slightly increasing NAV. Unfortunately that is not the case. I simply think one needs to protect for downside risk until two important events take place, the dividend announcement and the first half financial report. Those two items combined will determine how much AOD is really worth.
