Looks like about a million share short attack on PANL from 10:30 until just after noon today. Slam. Shorts might feel safe on a no news week with expirations. Which strike are we likely to land on Friday?
This bear game will end soon, but for now, I'm seriously missing the up-tick rule.
The "short attack" may have been prompted by France's CAC stock market allowing its users to short again, that being announced today.
It is also possible that some insider knew about the Dept of Energy award and told his/her friends to short, but I am not sure that this news could be interpreted as bad or good for the stock price. I seem to recall Universal Display often gets similar awards or recognition for its white light research.
You take us for idiots, right? If what has happened to this stock over the past year or so was not short manipulation, and I think by many of the very institutions that own it, then you would expect a decrease in institutional ownership because retail holders just don't hold enough shares for the kind of churn happening in this stock.
short action is killing my investments in the last couple years - I am still ahead but would be significantly ahead but for short manipulation. IDCC is also heavily shorted WTF these are solid companies and good investments but since the banks successfully lobbied for lax short sale rules, the securities trading industry is the only one where some shmuck can come along and borrow someone else's property and then go right ahead and sell it to someone else. What else do you own where you would allow a stranger to borrow it and then sell it to someone else you don't know, your house, your iPhone, your shoes? FYI - my IDCC bet didn;t work out very well! I shoulda stayed in cash. Oh well - I am thinking about reentering PANL but would like to see IDCC and PANL = prices when I do. RIght now I think IDCC is in recovery mode will has great long term prospects with LTE 4G and a very strong fundmental base. Slightly different animals. UDC has great growth ahead with lighting and TVs!
