Very interesting. If they succeed in accelerating their roadmap will resulting materials sales (and those beautiful built-in license fees) be moved up a quarter or two? Will it emphasize the importance of getting the long term deal with PANL signed? If they truly want to clone Samsung's success in the smartphone arena with similar results in the tablet and tv arenas, they will. Not to say we won't see an extension before we see a long term deal inked but either way, LG's rush to market bodes well for PANL.
^ I guess I got my answer on an extension! The good news, as PANL's CEO pointed out, are that the short term contracts are costlier to LG than a long term contract and provide a higher margin to PANL so he's in no hurry. Contract extensions seemed to be more of a worry during the Samsung negotiations.
