Investing in the Future of OLED

To prepare for the imminent growth in demand for OLED TVs around the world, LG is establishing production bases in a number of countries outside of Korea. The company has already completed the construction of new TV plants in Brazil, Poland, China and Thailand with an advanced facility in Mexico commencing operation this year producing OLED TVs for the North American market. Through the creation of this large-scale global OLED TV production network, LG is building an early lead in the next generation TV technology. With strategic bases serving local and surrounding markets, LG aims to reduce export costs and increase price competitiveness.

    • I'm still trying to digest this remarkable quote from today's LG Press Release. It is by far the strongest statement about the future of large format OLED screens. "imminent growth in demand". . . "an advanced facility in Mexico commencing operation this year for the North American market." TV plants in Brazil, Poland, China and Thailand mentioned as part of the OLED growth story. "creation of this large-scale global OLED TV production network" "THE next generation TV technology." (not "a next generation"; not "one of the next generation" but "THE next generation.")

These statements were not lightly made. I think they just declared an all-in sort of bet.

      It's just too much.

Delightedly anticipating the second half of the chessboard!

      Andy

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Excellent news, this flies in the face of all of the naysaying that has been going on, especially concerning Sony and Panasonic...
