There is a good article that mentions how alot of the great value investors are moving into the telecom arena to pick up the remnants. It hightlights the fact that the assets are not that valuable but the customers are the real jewels. Sure makes me feel good knowing we have SBC(a real heavyweight). It mentions, Carl Icahn, Wilbur Ross and Warren Buffett as those moving in to make big bucks from the collapsed telco market. Others not mentioned but that I know of are of course, the ever savvy Howard Jonas at IDT, our good ole LUK, as well as quite a few private equity firms that are scooping up and several consolidating firms. Looks like C&S are on top of things, as always, and I look for them to continue to be on hte prowl for small firms that can be integrated.
It also mentioned that it took many years for the real estate(post S&L fiasco), oil, and railroad crisis's to weed out the weak players and then begin their ascent upwards.
