Fidelity tells me that nvdq has issued a 6K form to the SEC which basically repeats their announcement of a few days ago about their unaudited revenues for the 4Q and 2013. To me this doesn't explain today's pop on more than twice the average daily volume to a new high in the shares. So far I'm told that there are 7 block trades of 10K share or more.
Taipei Times reported that Novadaq has inked an exclusive distribution deal with Taipei-based CHC Healthcare Group to sell NVDQ’s imaging systems in Taiwan and China. CHC expects to begin selling the imaging systems in Taiwan after receiving regulatory approval by the end of June, the Taipei Times reported, citing a company spokesman. CHC also expects to receive regulatory approval in China in the next six to nine months, the spokesman told the Times. The article also notes that the agreement between the two companies includes an annual minimum purchase, but an amount was not specified.
On another note:
Speaking of LUNA, one notable update from management is that the company expects to “swing for the fences” with LUNA, which they believe could change the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic foot ulcers and other procedures in the wound care clinic. To wit, instead of trying to reach 800+ wound care clinics across the country in what promises to be a long process, the company plans to target large GPOs in the hopes of scoring at least one large contract in 2014, and potentially many more large contracts thereafter. We think an announcement of a GPO “win” with LUNA this year would be a significant catalyst for the stock, and could augment what we see as additional upside potential in Novadaq’s other compelling growth franchises.
From my post (after the Nov 18 Investor Day Conference)~
"During Arun's concluding remarks he finally got around to addressing international sales.
Turns out he was in Taiwan 2 weeks ago to arrange for 3 of Taiwan's 6 hospitals to purchase their devices through distributor Swissray.
He explained that Taiwan is socialist; the government makes the decisions about healthcare.
They will take the same approach with China.
After the meeting I asked Arun about Japan.
He said he's "working on it" but wouldn't say more".
Regarding Swissray: wondering if they're still in the mix, or if they compete with CHC.
Anyone in the know?
Finally, imagine the pop in the shares should they announce an agreement with Japan!
Maybe through JNJ?
