    If someone actually bought this company...

    They'd get a lot of high priced employees, overpriced legacy products, and execs looking
    for a big pay day. I would expect a lot of layoffs.

    • You;re spot on ! With the latest financials, there's been a lot of reorg (typically happens annually, but this time, it's happennign in 6 months), but even with folks getting rapped on the knuckles, they're staying with their jobs - just paid too much to care to leave. But then, BMC has to pay top dollar as it's difficult to win employees over when the dot-coms offer so much more.

      The main challenge there is that the focus is all around the company's products, rather than lonter term, strategic thinking about what the market needs, how market buying is it ends up as 'doing more of the same' rather than breaking the mold to do something more radically different.
