Sold at a small loss and just went short at 22.90. Put a stop in a $22. Hope I made the decision. I just don't think vvus will hold gains on this low volume.
Got 997 filled at 22.35 this evening. Lets hope for a good monday!
Not sure how to read into this but it looks like Vivus is using a contract sales force through PDI and they're in the process of interviewing/ making offers for sales positions this week.
Vivus will hire reps. Reps will get benefits/salary through PDI.
wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a big pharma to buyout a company whose whole claim to fame is a combination of two generics!?
citron discusses that and i have to admit i found them persuasive on both vvus and qcor.
You too. always nice to make some money though. I'm down just under 300 for the day...and decided to hold into the weekend as I beleive there is minimal downside risk and I'm up a fair bit. Kind of like betting with the house's money. See what happens...I think they'll be a merger or buyout prior to them marketing it themselves. Way too much opportunity for big pharma to ignore.
Have a good weekend
I wish I covered when it dipped down in the '.30's but I got greedy and ended up covering around $22.60 when it went on that mid day run. I made $460 but could've done a lot better.
I just put an AH limit order of 1,000 at 22.35 but it prob won't get filled. have a great weekend.
By my figuring (if you are still holding) your up around 400 to 500 bucks...not bad, for a couple of days work. More then allot of people make. Do you lock up your profits and enjoy your weekend? I took a long position of 1250 shares at 22.58. We'll see what happens! :)
Good luck and have a good weekend all.
The big question is....are you still holding? You may get your opportunity tomorrow...could have been much worse today. I was going to short at around 23.10 but my brokerage (fidelity) had no shares available to short. They have had in the past. be interesting tomorrow...if it gaps up in the morning a dollar or more I'll be sitting on the sidelines and looking at a few other stocks.
VVUS is hard to predict day by day, but during the day it does uually hold to a similar pattern: if it is up or down it will continue in that direction into the final hr and more often than not, puts in its HOD or LOD during that period and then experiences some reversal during the lst few minutes. Now unfortunately, I have learned that trading pattern may or may not carry over into the next day. Not usre why that occurs so often, but I did not take profits again today in the hope/expectation that will go higher over the next few days.
We shall see.
Actually the volume today is tracking to about yesterday's volume of 4.9million or so. Why would you put in a stop profit rather than a stop loss or did I misread the first post?
PS Hard to tell if we hold all of today's gains, but if we put in a new HOD, we should be going higher....
