    ~24K Qsymia scripts in Jan

That's my prediction for Weds investment conference. I think VVUS had big January. Google trends shows a definite jump in interest in Qsymia starting Jan 2. And if you look at all other diet pills, etc. (except Belviq) they all saw a jumps interest too. Jan to April is the holiday season for the diet industry....

Which also points out ARNA is missing out on the 2013 season, even if Belviq gets on the market Mar 1 it will be effectively too late to make any significant impression this year. They'll have to wait for 2014 (I'll get plenty of thumbs down for that comment even though it's true)

    • I think your 24K number is good. I just got off the phone with CVS to confirm my 2nd full month script. In January they were receiving over 300 scripts per day and in Feb that number is heading toward 500 per day. Their clients are complaining about the wait times. They also filled all initial scripts with quest accounts and so with the second script takes additional phone time to get the order correct. Plus, since Jan 1, I went from 277 to 248..... only 30 more to go.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • My estimate is a little more conservative due to the December 21st - jan4th two week holiday period during the jan 18th four week rolling period. I'm still expecting 19-21k however.

    • Yep ARNA missed it. If you havent done it by Valentines day you are unlikely to self motivate

    • Serious question, what percentage of those scripts to you think were free?

      • I hope is was ALL free! I hope Vivus announces a new program at this investor conference where they will give away 500,000 thirty day scripts to the next 500,000 patients. 500K people walking around showing and telling millions more people how they lost 20, 30, 40 and more lbs on Qsymia, awesome.

Vivus's cost of goods sold is nothing on these pills. the ROI is massive. There is no better marketing then a patient on Qsymia telling friends, family, co-workers about their weight loss and doctors seeing their patients lose the weight and seeing the health benefits first hand.

I can't see how marketing Qsymia through ad campaign, sales rep visiting doctors, booth at science or health conference, etc can compete with the ROI of a free sample campaign. Any marketing expert and study will tell you positive word of mouth has proven again and again to be the most cost effective form of marketing there is.

That is a serious response to your serious question from a serious VVUS investor. I want VVUS to give away Qsymia and I don't care 1 bit about revenue right now, seriously. I only care about script growth.
