The only flaw in your arguement is assuming the next gas crisis is years away. The only thing keeping gas prices under 4 bucks is the high unemployment and lack of available capital for businesses to grow. Within 2 years, unemployment will be back down and lending will be back up, and gas will be over 4 bucks. The average american worker cannot afford to pay 4 bucks, so alternative energy is inevitable. If you don't have a timetable beyond 12 months, stay away from clean energy stocks. If you are in no hurry, load up on the good ones, and be very happy in 4 years.
