WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama will encourage the country's booming natural gas output in his State of the Union address on Tuesday, while defending his administration's energy record, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Obama was expected to devote a significant portion of his speech slated for 9 p.m. EST Tuesday calling for a "new era for American energy," which will include promoting domestic natural gas production, according to documents provided to Democratic party sources.
The problem is obviously not the production of ng, but the distribution of ng. Which this company clearly addresses. Since the Secretary of Energy is a Nobel Prize laureate, do you think that this fact has escaped him? And if The President plumps for more usage of ng, do you think that the GOP will oppose this? Rather than wasting ng by using Canada's supply to cook oil sands, why shouldn't we just burn our own abundant supply? The net savings, in terms of both energy and polution, would be immense.
Obama will say anything that will generate applause from his cronies in congress. He has no intention of following up on any of it, just like he hasn't followed up on any of his promises from the last state of the union speeches.
He can mention natural get and generate a pop in gas stocks, but it'll be short lived when everyone sees that he's doing nothing as usual.
I wonder why it took him 3 years to decide to support natural gas? Could it be he is looking for re-election votes? Obama could care less that 25 million citizens are unemployed, it's about him the arrogant, selfish, and inconsiderate.
