"....The son of dictator Col. Muammar Gaddafi was paid $160-million in kickbacks for steering major contracts in Libya to SNC-Lavalin, Canada’s biggest engineering and construction company, police are alleging...."
Now I'm now accountant, but I would imagine that no one person in a small satellite office overseas would have signing authority for more than, say, $5000......I'd even imagine that THIS amount would even get noticed within head office, maybe even get a glance form the audit committee..?...naaahhhh!
Am I dreaming here, or does this seem like a "Lehamn Bros. moment" all over again?
So SNC's Chairman steps down, everyone else on the board (including audit committee heavyweight Claude) stays, and they add three more "Quebec Inc". directors / mouths to feed. Problems solved......wow. Is this a 'pink sheets', a Murray Pezim special from 1983?
....And if you ever doubted why you don't have Hunter Harrison any more, it's because "Quebec Inc." wanted their shiny new train set back.
