    Good Coffee

What it boils down to is, everyone has a different idea of what good coffee should taste like. This to me largely depends on what part of the country you're from. West Coast- Dark Roast Robust strong flavor, which SBUX has- Rules. South East- Watered down version of SBUX, i.e. Dunkin Donuts (DD)= more appeal, etc...
Demographics are also a key factor to taste preference. My parents- Baby Boomer generation- like the Dunkin Donuts style- Weak; Myself and most of my peers, (30 somethings) like SBUX- Strong

I've had MCD's DD's- I think they are way over rated. As for price- You get what you pay for...

full disclosure- I own JAN-30 CALLS

    • Jan 30 call should make you money. I own the earlier 30 strike, and I'm long as well.

      • Just buy your starbucks at Walmart on the cheap. A bag is usually $3 bucks cheaper.

Buy Sbux on Monday. Near the 52 weak lows and just about ready to explode in China. Everyone counted MCd out in 2002, whos laughing now. Had you bought in 2002 when everyone said MCD was growning too fast, you'd be up over 200%

Folks are saying sbux is growing too fast (sound familiar)
What I know is, sbuxs tastes good to me, and the other 9 people that Im standing behind to buy it, even in the summer.

I'm a baby boomer and this is my personel taste.
I can't stand Starbux coffee at Starbux but love the frapps.
I love to make Starbux at home (Sumatra) my way and at home made my way, it tastes great to me.
Just came back to California from vacation to Maine/New Hamphire and had Duncan for the first time. Love their coffee in their shops, bought some beans and made at home and could not get a good taste from it.
Results : Buy Starbux and make at home and frapps in shops.
If on vacation it all depends on where I am.

    • You don't always get what you pay for. That's a myth. Often times you are paying for import taxes or advertising. And a $10.00 bottle of wine is often just as good as a $100.00 bottle of wine. Take Robert Mondavi for example. There Vintner's reserve and Grand Reserve are different prices, yet the same first pressing of the grapes from the same vineyards go in each. One uses three company-owned vineyards (same quality control) for a more complex taste with oak-barrel aging. The Vintner's ages in Stainless Steele vats with one regional grape.

Both use the first pressing; both have the same standards. One cost more to make, but one is neither better nor worse. Just two different tastes. You don't always get what you pay for. Somebody paying $30.00 more for the Grand reserve may not like those vanilla notes produce by oak barrel aging. They may even like French barrels better, yet that would cost even more. It's a crock of shit. Price tells you nothing.

MCD is half the price with no tipping. God bless those of us who prefer that coffee over SBUX as we don't have to get ripped off. I pity the fool who prefers that burnt over roasted flavor and is willing to, well, even tip for it. Losers!
