The story seems to be that Starbux has no internal standards of quality to make something like this unthinkable..
The cost cutting is extreme.
Look at the cost of coffee at starbux. How much would it cost them to purchase properly treated water to meet a reasonable standard. What does a 5 gallon jug of water cost them. About two dollars?
This would make 80 cups of 8 oz cups of coffee. That is less than 3 cents/cup.
It bothers me, because I drink a lot of Starbux coffee, especially when travelling.
What are they doing in the airports etc. Where are they getting the water????
Until I hear that Starbux is taking this seriously, I will think twice before I buy coffee in any of these shops that don't have a proper infrastructure for water!!!!!! It's probably not just Starbux. But all of them. I bet that you will not find this happening at a MacDonalds!!!
The complete lack of common sense is baffling! How could management allow this routine?
Haven't they read the report on how toilet germs are sprayed in the room if the toilet seat is not down? I wonder what other surprises they have for us. I used to enjoy Starbucks; but I haven't been to SB since this fiasco.
