    The Republican dilemma.

The Republican party has been hi-jacked by a small group of extremists hell bent a suicidal attack to embarrassing Obama by demanding the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Like it or not this act was voted in by both houses of Congress and judged fully constitutional by the Supreme Court. There is no way this side of hell that Obama will, or should, give in to these demands.
So what is the Republican Party going to do? If it carries on being dominated by the loony Tea Party group it will lose a great deal of public support on the run up to the mid-term elections and it will take them decades to recover.
Ultimately, if it is going to survive it will have to cut the Tea Part group lose and go it alone with a deal with Obama. This will be painful. The sooner they do this the better chance they will have at recovering some support and dignity before the coming elections.
Alternatively they will become increasingly irrelevant to mainstream politics.
For the Republican Party this is decision time.
