3% split is a big waste of money

I used to own bank stocks across the country. (Banks like little stock dividends for some reason.)

One day I sold most of my bank stocks. Some of the banks had declared small splits, so I still received a few split shares when I sold in the interim between the record date and the distribution date. Too few shares to sell. Years later I still receive all of the different banks' corporate mailings for my 1-10 shares. They've already spent more on postage than my shares are worth - and many more mailings to come in future years. A small split is a big waste of money.

    • I's OK, but an increase of their cash dividend is much more meaningful, like MNRK just did. BTW, I own both MNRK and TOWN. MNRK seems to be quite cheap and I look for higher prices there, but it's more difficult to research TOWN for some reason. What's you outlook on both of them, if you're familiar with them? Thanks.
