two different takes on same event; fastball correctly points out PXD (over $200/sh) is a prolific shale producer and he rightly points out it would have been great if PXD took on the Alaskan north slope challenge.
however, layahillary rightly points out that PXD is literally & figuratively printing out money in texas shale
and they want that $550 million to plow into their acreage in texas. further PXD did not want to dilute their efforts and resources by working in both texas and Alaska.
separately, layahillary poster smartly takes note of paying $550 million usa dollars for Alaskan northslope land. that is another evidentiary indication that Alaskan acreage has value.
now I am of understanding that PXD was working slightly offshore in 5 feet deep water where it was drilling...........so that differs from the northslope on land shale oil excavation royl is involved in. but both posters made worthwhile points.
