I have had this fund since March of 2005. I am in the red by 10% which included reinvesting. I am looking at transfering the money into Bershire BRK-B as over the long haul a bigger return with out all the capital gain taxes. Any thoughts ??
I've got the same problem with Caibx, amecx, abalx, cwgix. It seems and American Funds can't get their heads out of their butts and get their mutuals moving again. -10% is about right except cwgix that's wopping -1/3 down. I've got some BRK-B. It's stable at the moment. It took a hit on friday because the Feds are blowing smoke us Gs's butt and the investors are wetting their pants over the ordeal. I trust uncle Sam about as far as I can throw him. Look at the fine job they did on the Health Care Bill.
I just sold amecx, abalx, abndx and used the money to buy indivual stocks paying 8-12% interest. Tired of paying mutual funds for non-performance. I was thinking of selling my caibx and buying BRK-B. over the last 5 years BRK-B has outperformed CAIBX ! Total agreement with you on Uncle Sam !!!
