I am in the industry as well. The OMX B to B division has been sliding in the wrong direction for many years. The sales team that remains are a group of poorly paid reps that hang on because they can not get other work. They have and continue lose their major contract customers to the likes of Staples, WB MAson and ODP. I do not know about the retail part of the business. I believe that Staples will buy them our especially if the stock continues to decline.
I see no upside in this company. Since the Boise Cascade deal they have lost all the luster of a once proud contract stationer. The retail operation has been a dog for a decade. The CEO is clueless and their contract with Boise prohibits them from being competitive on the most important contract item COPY PAPER.
I doubt Staples would buy them, not worth the capital investment when they will die on the vine within the next 9 months. Nobody is going to miss them except the poor employees. Sorry but that's my take on this dog.
