If OfficeMax could take out Office Depot though, their sales would go even higher. We have both stores in my town just a few blocks from each other. Office Depot has over 11 billion in sales. It is NOT a small company. A great portion of those sales would go to OfficeMax in case of a merger or a buyout by Max.
Either way, I think that both companies would gain from a merger.
