Chile has great fiber. There is an ample supply of degraded native species in S. Chile. LPX are moving an old plant down there and refurbishing it. It (this is what I hear) is supposed to be north of the BCC mill. Unlike BCC, LPX will have their plant up and running well in advance of BCC, which just goes to show how bad and slow BCC tends to develop projects. Hopefully the BCC fiasco in Region X wont cause any problems for LPX. BCC have tried to impose their corporate culture (scary thought) on Chileans, and others, and are botching the project up completely.
