    heading south

Can someone please tell me why TMO keeps heading south -- I keep waiting for it to go back into the 40s but it doesn't???

    • There are a number of debatable reasons for TMO's
poor performance over the last couple of
      years.
However, there are some simple explanations:
      1. The
stock significantly outperformed the S&P 500 for a
number of years -- it is now taking a natural
      breather.
      2. It is fairly valued with a 26-28 P/E. Earnings
will have to increase significantly before the stock
      will move.
      3. Trouble with some of the spin-out
companies reflect back on the parent company -- especially
as TMO's stock holdings are an important part of
      asset growth.
      4. The stock no longer enjoys the sex
appeal it once had -- joining the S&P 500 didn't
      help.

TMO is a innovative, creative company -- with flaws
of course, but overall a first rate outfit. Long
term (3-4 years) this stock should be a solid winner,
a doubling of current levels is certainly
      feasible.

      Hope this helps. Good luck.
