The problem with NEM, it is a very big company they dig big holes, so they need to find new places to dig big holes, new places are getting harder to find and are getting more expensive.
Its an accounting thing, spending vs. income, holes vs. cost of finding places to dig new holes.
I could put it in legal accounting lingo, but that's so boring, besides NEM has it all on its home page.

not exactly a fair comparison. newmont has bought out some companies so the sharecount in 1995 is not the same as it is in 2013.
