As I said, and will say it again. This Amgen stock has been very good to me since the beginning. I have own it since the start. Got in on it threw an R@D program with Paine Webber 20 odd years ago. Sent my son thru college and have a hefty retirement fund. Thanks again Amgen, I have your back.
I've been in AMGN since June, 1987. From that time to around 2000, it was a fantastic stock. However, from the high in around 2000 to the present, it has traded violently back and forth from the the 80-range down to the 30-range and is now near an all-time high. The new management team appears to be a lot more competent and shareholder-friendly, and the stock might finally be on a new trajectory that will carry it a lot higher. AMGN has finally regained the confidence of many fund managers. The only thing that worries me tremendously is that Cramer is touting it again - as he was about a dozen years ago at around 80. CRAMER IS THE KISS OF DEATH!
