Why Logitech was more profitable when PC Sales before 2010 was less than 2012?
funny because in 2012 the Stats is ~350m while in years 2007 it was ~260m? search the net for stats.
Hypothetically it could be because previous management in 2010-2011 didn't updated the high-mid end PC accessories while focusing on Digital Home of Google TV, Harmony remotes, Alert Security & LifeSize
while didn't focus on the core Business of PC, and emerging Smartphones and tablets.
that is why i believe the new CEO is on the right track, soon all fixed as tablets are another computing form factor device and Logitech brand is strong in this space.
Divest everything non core, and reduce company complexity and cost, while focus on core R&D for consumer and Business in Westren and emerging markets alike
PC will keep transforming to new Ultrabooks & AIO ultrathin devices, which will create opportunities for Logitech, even touchscreens are not practical for PC so Logitech will have more opportunities to develop more touch pads, touch mice, touch capabilities even in Keyboards that i think we will see by mid year along side upgraded version of traditional mice and keyboards and speakers and gaming and communication accessories.
back to the old days but this time with more opportunities in Tablets, Smartphones, Emerging markets & for Business, areas were not even in the old days
