    BDX great long term investment?

It has a great income, balance, cash flow statement.
Passed all the "Buffet like" criteria. (in fact he owns a little)
Seems like a solid business and BDX has a durable competitive advantage.

There was a recent price drop. I was thinking it was a well undervalued stock.
Seems to have underperformed the S+P from about March 09 to today.
Anyone have any feelings on any of this?

I'm thinking about holding it for the long term.

    • BDX is a classic long term dividend growth stock. They increase their dividends at double-digit percentages every year, even during a recession. Here are the annual dividend increases for the past 5 years:

      2009 12.10%
      2008 15.80%
      2007 16.30%
      2006 14.00%
      2005 19.40%

Look for another double digit percentage dividend increase in November.
