Has anyone noticed how the debt level at this company has balloned the last few years? Why? It seems that management is selling debt to buy back stock. Bad move! Stock buybacks suck to begin with. Better off showing shareholders the money with a dividend boast or using your debt capacity to make accretive acquisitions but NOooooooooooooooo..we're going to buy back stock to prop up our lagging EPS figures and try to make things look better than they really are.
This is a good business but management sucks! Just who do they think they're fooling?
He is correct in all respects. The buy backs are accretive to EPS or the company wouldn't do them. Eventually, debt capacity runs out and the company will have to find another way to generate earnings.
