Credit Suisse yesterday picked their top names among small-cap stocks, also selecting the biggest as the category’s “sweet spot.” CS analysts’ top recommendations in the $1 billion-$2.5 billion market cap range included: Tenneco (TEN), Swift Energy (SFY) and Synovus Financial (SNV). Among smaller mid-caps they liked Penn National Gaming (PENN) and Coventry Health (CVH). - Barrons ( December 15, 2011)
When the analysts and market have set expectations so rediculously low....and based their decision to do so on expectations that have NOT HAPPENED ....ex. "no double dip recession" which virtually all analysts and economist (except Jeff Saut at Raymond James) were calling for in the 3rd and 4th Q - there really isn't any where to go but up!
They were flat out - 100% wrong in their analysis and 100% wrong in applying their discount to TBV to SNV, which they pulled straight from their butts.
The turd's in this story are about to get flushed.
Looking forward to seeing what SNV can do in 2012. The hurdle has been set so lowwwwwwwwww ......
BTW: Bill - how are those "nobel winning economists doing??"
