In canada they have usage based pricing in broadband so we know disks will be alive and well for the foreseeable future. dvds that work in canada also work in the US. they are in the same region.
so unless movie studios want to give up on canada as a market to sell movies...we KNOW movie disks will be in circulation for a long long time. redbox will be able to get its hands on these dvd and bluray disks.
online video can't replace disks for new releases because the rights are too expensive...waay waay too expensive. buying and renting dvds are way cheaper than buying digital rights.
