Bush leaving US healthcare in peril

Bush leaving US healthcare in peril

If Bush is elected for four more years, expect to see our health care system continue to deteriorate and more Americans will become uninsured or underinsured.

As the cost of medicare and prescription drugs soar, high quality health care will become less accessible to the working families of America.

The United States must join the rest of the industrialized world and develop a national health care system which guarantees health care to every man, woman and child in our country. Surely one would think that the wealthiest Americans could afford to pay more in taxes to keep their fellow Americans alive.

    • Bush wore a blue and black sock on Tuesday. Its a sign from Macy's, Nieman Marcus or he's dumber then a rock..

Remember, we just topped 1000 deaths in Iraq yesterday. By the time you place your vote it will be 1,100 and if Bush is reelected in four more years the total will exceed 5 or 10 thousand. "You", as a Republican voter, own a piece of each of those deaths so "pray" for them.

The Lord has a way of revealing those of us who really know him, and those that don't! Think about it! Kerry gave a big speech last week about how his faith is so "important" to him. In this attempt to convince the American people that we should consider him for president, he announced that his favorite Bible verse is John 16:3.

Of course the speechwriter meant John 3:16, but nobody in the Kerry camp was familiar enough with scripture to catch the error. And do you know what John 16:3 says? John 16:3 says; "They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me." The Spirit works in strange ways.

    • Take your time posting to a more "valuable" experience such as: move on to a shelter and give the vagabonds your worn out sox and other clothing; prepare food and other essentials and feel sorry for the tens of thousands who are able but will NOT work.

Do you reckon this is why so many Hispanics flock to America? They will work for your "sub-par" pay. Get a life at the local mission.

    • Togaville-

      That was priceless, thank you.

    • You are most certainly an idiot!

    • The best way to irritate a democrat?? Work hard and be happy....It drives them nuts...

    • Dreamonl, I changed your message to more of a Democratic statement. It now reads as follows-

<Leave it to the Republicans to put a positive spin on bad numbers. Bad news is the only good news for the Republicans. Sad, but that's the way it goes these days. Republicans label everything connected to the Democrats with a negative twist of words, as bad, wrong and/or conspiracy. Republicans are truly the "Masters of Spin" (lies and deceit = deception).

If the jobs being created were $40 to $150K a year then it would be Democrats fault for not creating high paying executive jobs and additional income for the wealthiest 5% of Americans. The Republicans need these business allies to provide financial support and business favors.

Acutally the data released a couple of months ago said the average jobs created during the last fours years of the Bush Admininstration were $5.50/hour and above. That comes to at least $11,440 annually plus all the State Medcaid and Welfare Benefits these same employees are entitled to receive. In 2001 the state of California shelled out 81 million dollars to Walmart Empolyees in the form of state aid to the poor. What the heck, let the state pay all health insurance and subsidize Walmart and other businesses bottom line at the taxpayers expense. That's the Republican way of doing things. Heck, my neighbors (a devoted Republican) son lost his job (off shoring) and moved the wife plus 3 kids in with Grandpa. Maybe he will get 3 or 4 of those new $5.50 hour jobs with no benefits and welfare to boot.

Also, show me where Bush or the Republicans haven't stretched and massaged the numbers. They have to in order to make their adminstration look good. Check with the Department of Labor and Statistics and see the stated Unemployment Rate of 5.4% is lower than the average of the 1970's, average of the 80's or the average of the 90's. Remember, the Republicans manipulate the employment numbers and they are off 3%. So a 5.4% number should actually be 8.4% unemployment. Most of this decline is directly attributed to the number of people paid state unemployment in full and entitled to "0" additional checks. Hundreds of thousands of these people disappear each month off the dole and Republicans declare this a moral victory with lower employment numbers. Looks good in the newpapers and on TV.

Since the actual job loss is way above the 1 million mark the future is looking dull for a 2nd term. Thank God, Bush Adminstration will finally be a part of history in November.

What has all this to do with GSK? Asolutely nothing except the RX Industry was the largest political contributor to the Republican Party and some of the Republican blow hards on this board continue to drag it on and on!! All I know is the Republican manufactured political polls (survey of 954 people) show Bush ahead with a 10 point lead. However, the legit polls of tens of thousands of American Families show Kerry ahead with over 54% of the voters.

When it comes to the stock market history proves when a Democrat is elected the markets grow and stockholders prosper. The middle class pays less in taxes and the wealthy pay more. During Bill Clinton's 8 years everyone "MADE" money in the market and during Bush's last 4 years everyone "LOST" money>

    • You have changed the subject. What are your comments on Bush and numbers and the examples noted?
