According to CNBC on Wednesday, the 45th company has received a delisting notice due to delayed earnings release. Does anybody seriously believe that NASDAQ and NYSE are anxious to delist 45 companies? Keeping in mind that the delayed earnings release is only a temporary problem & keeping in mind that both the NYSE and NASDAQ are trying to grow and are competing for companies. (I'm sure everyone here knows why the NYSE won't issue stock symbols I or M to any new companies.) The stock exchanges just want to be reassured that the 45 companies are going to restate their earnings in a timely manner so that the exchanges can put this all behind them ASAP. The only companies at risk are the ones who try to drag out the process. On 8/17, AMCC has their chance to convince NASDAQ that they will restate earnings soon.
