I called the California Dept. of Toxins two days ago and .....
got a return call yesterday. Funny voicemail message when you call and the same lady called me back. She said lots of investors have been calling, looking for information. She says that Exide has been in constant contact with the agency, but she also says the plumbing under the building will have to be redone as well as emissions enhanced for arsenic. Translation ? Beats me, but at least the company's not standing still. There number is 916-255-3617. That's all I've got for today.
Thanks for the post. A PR from the company outlining the steps it's taking and alternative sources of lead that its secured would do wonders for the stock. The assets and cash flow justify a price several points higher than its current distressed level, but we are in an information vacuum.
Fortunately, we are heading into a seasonally slower period for battery sales, and the company mentioned that it wanted to work down inventories anyways. So if this were going to happen, now is not a bad time.
