Could exceed billion dollars easily. Right now, its only Vernon thats in trouble but everywhere they have a manuf., plant or recycling unit they've got to have huge cleanup costs running into millions for each incident at each site/facility. There is no way they can underestimate the legal costs of that mess. Better to go private than cotninue as a going concern publicly, since this is their second time on BK court. IMHO this will go off the market, taken over by a Pvt. Equity group . Do your own DD.
Vernon will likely be closed (or should be) just as Frisco. Missouri and PA will add more woes to their list. It is a shame such gross polluters are allowed to operate their smelters just next to residential communities. Some politicians in their pockets, skimming off nicely.
Hey! You idiot! If Exide was going private, then the whole company would enter the bankruptcy, not just the US operations...Would you buy a company knowing that you wouldn't have access to its overseas operations? lol
