Stock at $156.68 today - that's the highest it's been since last August and above the $154 top in February. Lots of valuation upside of course, but perhaps we are finally seeing some interest in the stock and above $156, there is lots of room to go before we hit the tops from fall, 2010 to early 2011 of around $177.
Wouldn't it be completely ironic if Moody went ahead this week and issued a special dividend of $100 per share or something like that? Dare to dream...
I would love to see a reasonable and high dividend paid this month. Of course I do not expect such. Based on some trading activity, watching the tape, and experimenting with the current market, one could sell all they want at 158.50. Doesn't appear to be many sellers out there. You never know. I would also have no objection to NWLI paying out anticipated 2013 dividend in 2012, just like ORCL did a few weeks back.
you know i have issues with the capital management but the compensation you quote is just not correct. now, of course someone could question how he is able to manage two businesses in remote locations and if any activist got on board they will focus on this i think. but, lots of the compensation is from deferred compensation market moves i believe.
It is December 14 and there are only 17 more days this year. I think I can confidently predict that our extra dividend will be exactly $00.00 per share for 2012. NWLI pays a little over $1,200,000 in dividends a year and more than a third of that goes to Mr. Moody. This pales in comparison to his total compensation which has been between $3,000,000 and $6,000,000 for each of the last three years. It is pretty obvious who the company is being run for. MR. Moody says it is good to be king of the realm.
