Is DFR still giving out dividends --- and if so, what's the X-Date?
<<<In other words, Deerfield expects to have a net operating loss carry forward from the asset sales, meaning that there is no dividend obligation and DFR may elect not to pay a dividend at all until the NOL is used up>>>.
That suthor's speculation may or may not be correct. However, whoever paraphrased it as DFR "suspends dividend" is providing misleading information. No decision has been announced.
no one seesm to understand how a REIT works -- if DFR remains a REIT -- they HAVE to pay out 90% of their taxable income as a dividend -- NOL's dont come into this equation -- NOL's can only be used to offset capital gains, not investment income. Managemnt needs to do a better job communicating where they stand -- they have been awful so far.
The problem is that ex - Triarc principals (Pelts/May) are still controlling things here and look up triarc to see how they have done for their shareholders , communicating and otherwise.
