Is anyone actually buying more shares at these levels? I realize there's a buyer for every seller, but I'm speaking to the people that are following this thread. For disclosure, I own 5k shares at $8.50 so I'm currently screwed on my Nokia position. Fortunately, this represents a very small portion of my portfolio. It still sucks to take a loss. My issue is that I asked three of my younger employees what they thought of the Lumia, if anything? All three are recent college grads and fairly tech savy. All three have iPhones, non of the three had heard of the Lumia. That didn't make me feel great. I'm not considering buying more, but I've considered taking the loss and moving on. I've also seen companies like this appear to be on the brink of extinction only to come back and double in a matter of months. (BAC from $5-$10 in a few months.) It seems surreal to think Nok could disolve as a company, but sub $3.00/share is scarry. Wiser investors than me are dumping Nok. I'm inclined to hold at this point. Anyone have a reason for optimism?
Maybe not $6, but possibly $4.50-$5.
You know, everybody talking about Apple and Samsung eating the market, but the fact is hundreds of millions of people in developing countries (like China,India, etc) cannot afford a smartphone of over $400. Here in Thailand there are a lot of Blackberries and PAD, but ordinary people who make $300 a month (and there are millions here and hundreds of millions in India and China) get a Nokia. So I fail to see Nokia is over. It's still there for the lower segment of consumers. Nokia can keep this target, just need something NEW and something COOL. Nokia is not finished.
