I think Nok will win that battle over better phone, but the reality is the dilution of the msft phone sales in general. HTC was coming out with a phone anyway, but I believed with msft backing that only Nokia phone would be special and get things first. Additionaly, I thought with msft backing nokia would get the carriers. That is not true and was silly of me. HTC will hold it's own with Verizon. Nokia to be successful need to own the space, not be a player in it. As a buy or new phone, I was the signature phone the one I think will be there when I am ready to upgrade. Typical consumer is going to be fine buying an HTC..City Lens, Red Bull App etc...etc.. is not a game changer. Msft ensured the hardware specs were all comparable so that the winner in the end was msft.
Nokia built a great phone, but marketing and carriers is more important.. If all was equal Nokia would shine in comparison. Msft is marketing HTC exclusively and Verizon is the carrier of choice
