If they release something new soon and if Nokia doesn't take a chunk of the apple I'm not sure they'll ever have a better shot. However ugly it looks right now, this is the best position nokia could be in, in terms of a come back. They have the best phone in the market, it'll be released within days, there'll be lumias in all major carriers and they'll be cheaper than their counterparts.
Apple is helping. They are showing evidence that the company depended heavily on one genius who is no longer with us. The evidence is preliminary but noticeable. Iphone 5 has more issues than previous Iphones, it has not met the innovation expectations iReligious cult members expected, and did not sell as expected. In addition the mini further aggravated expectations in terms of price, features, and overall value Compared to nexus 7 and kindle fire starting at $200. Outside of product goals, today apple missed its financials goals. None of this happened while jobs was alive. He just wouldn't have allowed it.
So guys enjoy the dawn cause we are about to enjoy a perfect day. The ball is on our side of the court and its a slow high bounce. We just need to avoid unforced errors and execute
Somehow I think Apple is still in a pretty good position. Especially with that $121 BILLION of cash on the balance sheet vs. ZERO DEBT. Jobs might have been a genius, but he made some crazy bad decisions too. Hockey Puck mouse anybody? How about his insistence on a no-button mouse? And what's with this edict that there will never be Flash on iOS? Or ignoring the trend of larger screen smartphones and keeping the iPhone dimensions rigid?
