"Likes" on FB as relevant as sales figures? Bwaahahaha. Do you live in Colorado? What have you been smoking? Reminds me of valuing internet companies at the height of the bubble by the number of page views.. Absurd.
I don't touch the thumbs. However, Facebook have garnered a great deal of accusations that their system of Likes and millions of user accounts are potentially false/fake. We cannot be so naive to believe that Facebook and other social networks are free of fraud?
So many posters on these Yahoo! Financial Boards believe in market manipulation by analysts, Tech reviewers and MMs. But channels of info that go unchecked, un administered, un scrutinized are those in comment sections and social networking sites. We already know MSFT pay thousands of people in certain Asian countries to do phone support. Why not have them or similar help spread the gospel by littering the Internet with fake brand-evangelist posts, praises and pejorative?
It's a whole new form of marketing and there are no regulations.
