I suggest to play with it a bit when you are bored. Some things i found remarkable :
Asha dropping fast in India (60 now vs 100 in september).
Asha rising fast in China (100 now vs 40 in september).
Asha rising in Europe (100 now vs 70 in september).
Asha appears non existant in UK.
Asha rising in the US (100 now vs 70 in september).
Lumia rising in India.
Lumia not gaining traction in China.
Lumia rising fast in Europe and in the UK.
Lumia not gaining traction in the US.
Remarkable things and dont really know what to think of it. It appears Asha is getting accepted worldwide, especially in China! Nokia was top vendor in December probably because Asha in China is going really good.
It appears the Lumia arent going that well in the US / China. I predict though that will change soon with the China Mobile deal. I'm fearing for the US market though as Apple is too entrenched.
Overall, if i would be Samsung or Google i would be much afraid of Nokia Asha and Lumia combo. Apple hasnt much to fear of Nokia.
The battle is Android vs Nokia (WP and Asha).
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I think WP8/Nokia will take share from both Apple and Android, but for different reasons, in different market segments. Apple will own the extreme wing of "cool" segment, keeping in mind WP8 is a pretty cool OS - no one has to apologize for it. But, there are a lot of people who will buy Apple regardless of the respective value of a competing product.
My sense is Android has sold well to this point simply because it offered a low cost alternative to Apple. I think support for Android is a mile wide and an inch deep - it won't take much to get people to change from Android. Android phones offer no cost advantage to WP8/Nokia phones, and WP8 is a more attractive, and in many ways, more functional OS.
My guess is Apple has a stronger core of users than Android, but there are those who will stay with Android just because it's familiar. In either event, as I said above, I think WP8/Nokia will take market share from both, but more from Android. For whatever that's worth.
Apple has a LOT to fear with respect to Nokia. Nokia is the one brand in the world that has the cachet necessary to topple Apple's current lead. And it will happen faster than most people believe.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
you are absolutely right. That's why the manipulators of financial markets operate in unison against Nokia. Its the only viable threat against their free ride to riches that they enjoyed thus far and which is coming to an abrupt end.
